Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! This cute scarecrow from Penny Black is ready for his trick or treating. From the looks of his bags, he's already been to a few houses. Too bad I don't have any kids to bring me bags of candy home.

John and I are planning on sitting on the patio and handing out candy. I love to see the cute costumes the kids are wearing and treating them with candy. This year I got candy bracelets and mini candy bars. Hope they like them.

Project Materials: Card(Westrim, Bazzill); Rubber Stamp (Penny Black); Ink (Memento); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic); Buttons (Grandma's Button Bag); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Skull-ATB; brown-unknown);

Fray D. Cat Halloween

One day to Halloween! Here's another fun Halloween theme card. I think the name on the tombstone "Fray D. Cat" is funny. I am unsure who makes this particular stamp. I have just the rubber. I have a couple with this style of cat. I want to say it's made by TAC, but I can't confirm that. If anyone knows, please leave me a message.I got a couple new copic markers this week and I am expecting to get them in the mail. Can't wait to play with them. I am working on my coloring with copics, can you tell? Suppose I should find somewhere that is teaching a class and take one, but no where near me has them.

Project Materials: Cardstock (unknown); Stamps (Cat-unknown; Saying-Stampin' Up); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic Markers); Flowers (Prima); Bling (MAMBI);

Sweet Pea Cheerleader!

Well as the World series starts and football season is in full swing, I hear lots of cheering here in Texas. This cute little girl is from Sweet Pea Stamps and she's cheering just for YOU!

Since no one ever seems to cheer for the crafters, let me just say, "Go, Stampers! Go Stampers! Go, Stampers, Go!" As the holiday season approaches I know me and my crafting buddies will be busier than ever.

Project Materials: Square Card (Colorbok); Cardstock (DCWV, Bazzill); Stamps (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic Markers); Flowers (Prima); Bling (Momenta, MAMBI);

Francesca

Here's a card I made for Kraftin' Kimmies blog challenge. Her name is Francesca. The color challenge was to use Rust, brown, and green together to create a colorful Autumn shaded card. I used Stampin' Up's Really Rust cardstock paired with DCWV olive cardstock and some color flowers from Prima. I used Copic markers to color Francesca and she's holding yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting. (YUM) Happy Birthday Autumn!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Stampin' up, DCWV); Stamp (Francesca-Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps); Ink (memento); Color (Copic Markers); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Basic Grey); Border Punch (Fiskars);

Just 3 more days to Halloween! I better use all these opportunities to get some extra stamping out of all the cute Halloween stamps I have. This stamp is Emma from CC Designs.Hope you got to use all your wonderful Halloween supplies this year. I guess I could post Halloween cards at any time, but they seem more meaningful when they are near the holiday.
I made and sent out about 20 halloween cards to friends and family this year. Guess I should have taken photos of some to share with you!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamps (Emma-CC Designs, Saying-Stampin' Up); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Color (Copic Markers); Ribbon (unknown); Tools (Fiskars border punch); Adhesives (Glue it all, popdots, Ribbon Glue)

Be Yourself

This adorable little girl from Hanglar&Stanglar rubber stamps says "Be Yourself". That's hard to be at times. I catch myself struggling to be different all the time. What if I dressed fancier? what if I was more outgoing? what if....what if...what if

So to everyone else out there (including myself), BE YOURSELF. Let the world see who you really are.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamp (Hanglar&Stanglar Rubber Stamps); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic Markers); Flowers (Prima); Brad(Basic Grey); Saying(Colorbok);

Hot Dog!

Here's a cute dog from Whipper Snapper Stamps. I stamped him and used Derwent Inktense Pencils to color him up. I think this would be cute as summer card but also any special occassion by putting a sentiment inside like "It's your birthday!"

Off to the Dentist today. Hopefully a quick teeth cleaning and nothing else! I am looking forward to some time off in the afternoon to stamp up something new for you to see tomorrow. If you are just returning from a weekend away, be sure to scroll down a couple of entries and sign up for the blog candy! Big prize this time.

Halloween Witch

Wow, less than a week to Halloween! I am hoping to get a few more Halloween cards posted before the holiday. This weekend John and I bought some treats for the kids who come by on Saturday night. I hope the weather is nice for them.

We often sit out on the porch and handout candy to the kids. It's a little sad because most of our neighbors do not hand out candy, so we get very little of the trick-or-treaters. One of the Church's nearby has a huge event which draws a lot of families to the neighborhood.

I have set up the new vote for Card of the Week. Please glance through last week's cards and pick one! Vote is on the right. Also, I am taking entries for the Blog candy. Scroll down to saturday night's entry for details!

Project Materials: Card(Westrim); Cardstock (DCWV); Stamps (Witch-TAC; Saying-Imaginations); Color (Derwent Inktense); Ink (Versafine; Colorbox Chalk); Flowers (Prima); Brads (ATB, Making Memories); Button (Jesse James);

Sunday Angel Card

Hello all, Happy Sunday. I hope you have had a blessed week. Here's the Sunday Angel card made from stamps by The Angel Company (TAC).

The saying "Friends are Angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." The older you get, the more that means. I don't consider myself old, but in the last few years even I have had some senior moments where I forget even the most basic of things (like how to stand up!!). Thank God for giving me good friends and angels.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Stampin' Up, Bazzill); Buttons (Jesse James Buttons); Stamps (TAC); Ink (Memento); Color (Derwent Inktense); Adhesives (Glue All, Glue Dots, 3d Pop dots);

More beautiful Mermaid Fairies

Here's another look at one of the new stamps from the Stamp Release Party last night. This Mermaid is called Dark Royalty. A bit different from my typical stamp topics, but I love the beautiful eyes and the LONG dark hair of this mermaid. What do you call a Mermaid Fairy?

Here's an additional sample I made with the same stamp. In this card you can see what the entire stamp looks like. I wish I had done the tail in a darker color. In places it looks like the tail is almost white, but I have actually colored in the tail different shades of grey.

Project Materials: Cardstocks (Colorbok, California Paper Goods, Bazzill); Stamp (Sweet Pea Stamps); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic Markers); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Making Memories, Bazzill); Ribbon (unknown); Tools (Fiskars border punch, Nestabilities die cutters);

Welcome the Mermaids

Sweet Pea stamps is now selling a gorgeous line of Mermaids (and Fairies). The Stamp release party was tonight, so welcome the new stamps! Here's one of the cards I made for the release party. To see more, go to the Sweet Pea Blog or the main website. You can access their website by clicking on the Pink Banner in the right hand column. There are 8 gorgeous new stamps available and some coordinating sayings. Right now this stamp is on pre-order sale for only $3.75!!

Here's an additional card made with the same Stamp. I think she looks so holiday-ish in this card. If I had changed the embellishments to be holiday theme, she would be perfect as a christmas card. The name of this stamp is Merry Season.
Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamps (Sweet Pea Stamps); Color (top-Derwent Inktense/Copic Markers, bottom Copic Markers); Flowers (Prima); Ribbon (top-Fire Mountain Gems, bottom-unknown);

Not All Frogs are Princes!

Here's a cute and colorful card made with Lilith of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I like this one, I think she kissed the frog but he didn't turn into a prince. Now she's a little more than frustrated.

I guess we never know where the prince is, but should we just go around kissing all the frogs? Better to just find a frog you are happy with and hope he will turn into a prince someday. (P.S. mine was a prince, but I kissed my share of frogs along the way!)

Project Materials: Cardstock (Basic Grey, Bazzill); Rubber Stamp (Lillith-Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic Markers); Flowers (Prima); Border&Buttons (Doodlebug); Skittles

Our Angel Wings

Here's an elegant looking but very simple to create card using some beautiful stamps from Sweet Pea Stamps. I stamped the image on heavy duty white cardstock and colored in certain features of the angel to make them standout. This card is also handy because it is perfectly flat, so no complaints from the Post Office! Sometimes it is hard to make flat card that can be mailed with out excessive postage. Don't forget the Sweet Pea Party tonight, a whole new stamp line is going to be revealed!!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, California Paper Goods); Sewn Piece (Linda Weber); Rubber Stamps (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic markers)

Tilda's having Ice Cream

Tilda's having some ice cream today! It's never too cold for that. Well, I guess it's never to cold for that in Texas! I never knew that places like Dairy Queen and Baskin Robbins closed in the winter up north. They stay open year round here because people want ice cream year round here (we also wear our shorts year round here). There may be a few cold days here and there, but for the most part, I own more pairs of shorts than I do pants.

If you haven't voted yet, please take a moment and vote for the "Card of the week"; Voting is in the right hand column. You can scroll down to see all of last week's cards.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamps (Magnolia Rubber Stamps); Ink (Memento); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic Marker); Flowers (Petaloo); Brads (Basic Grey, unknown);

Follow Your Dreams

This sweet Gorjuss Girl has a letter for you! She wants you to Follow Your Dreams. I often feel like I get to do that because I have the time to craft everyday. How fortunate is that? I feel very Blessed and know that the Lord has given me everything.
You may not tell from the card, but the front has been trimmed back and the "Follow Your Dreams and Colorbox Chalk is actually done on the inside of the card. The good news this week is that I my blog is being featured by SNR Card Universe! (http://snrcardiverse.ning.com/profiles/blogs/its-featured-blog-day-1);
I also won the prize from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog challenge last week. Woohoo!!

Encore Presentation: It's Charlotte

I rarely do two of the same image so close together, but I was having so much fun the other day with Charlotte of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps that I just had to make another card with her. Here's the encore presentation:
I really like how the hair came out on this card. I was using copic markers and had 4 shades of brown to play with. I really like the depth of the shading in the hair. It's with E31, 33, 35, 37; There's 2 shades of yellow and 1 shade of brown on the dress. Which Charlotte Card do you like better? Leave a comment and let me know.

Also--the vote has been set up for Card of the Week. Please go to the vote in the right hand column and pick your favorite card that was posted last week.

Project Materials: Card Base (Westrim Crafts); Cardstock (Bazzill, Stampin' Up); Stamp (Charlotte-Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps; Saying-Stamping Bella); Buttons (American Traditional); Ribbon (Fire Mountain Gems); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic markers);

Hanglar's Butterfly Costume

Happy Saturday all, welcome to the weekend. Even though the colors of this card aren't very fall-ish, I thought this cute girl dressed up in a costume qualified as Halloween themed.Had a great day yesterday, first lunch with John, then a couple hours at the bead show, then home to some beading. I actually got my first christmas gift made. It turned out gorgeous, it's a two strand necklace of beautiful red crystals with a matching set of earrings. Someday I will post a jewelry project.

Today's the last day to vote for this week's card of the week contest. If you haven't voted, please cast your vote in the right hand column (at the top). Thanks!

The Halloween Gang!

Here's some cute kids ready to go out on Halloween. I always enjoy this time of year. As the summer goes away my favorite colors become popular (orange, brown, yellow). In a couple weeks the kids will come by and Trick or Treat in their adorable costumes.

I am always impressed at how polite they are. I buy a lot of Halloween candy so we don't run out. When the kids come up, I will hold a huge bowl out to them. Now, you would think the kids would grab the biggest handful they could, but almost every child takes just one. (Then of course I grab a handful and put it in their bag.)

Project Materials: Card (Colorbok); Printed paper (DCWV); Stamps (Kids-Inky after Dark; Saying-Stampin Up); Ink (Memento); Color(Derwent Inktense, Copic Markers); Ribbon (Fire Mountain); Flower (Prima); Brad (Making Memories);

Lollipop!

Lollipop, Lollipop, oh lolli-lolli-lolli, Lollipop!

How about a decorated Lollipop?
Wouldn't these be cute to hand out to family and friends on Halloween. You could also use this idea to make cute decorated candy for any holiday or special occasion.

I made a template for this project and uploaded it to the Sweet Pea Stamps website. There's also more photos there. The link to it is: http://sweetpearubberstamps.blogspot.com/

Let's all have some candy!

CONGRATULATIONS you have found the lil pumpkin!

Orange Magnolia

Here's cute little Tilda having a seat. She's contemplating some thoughts from Longfellow "Kind hearts are the garden; Kind thoughts are the roots; Kind words are the flowers; Kind Deeds are the fruits."
I hope your day is filled with kindness. Both kindness that you give to people and kindness that people give to you. No kind deed goes unnoticed. You can always make a difference to someone, even if that someone is you! Hugs!

It's Charlotte

This adorable girl is Charlotte from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I got a handful of stamps from this Canadian based store delivered yesterday. They are all so adorable and the quality is top of the line (all my stamps were grey rubber that stamp perfectly clear); This cutie also came with a bonus stamp of a little rag doll. I love the cute curls on this little girl and her obviously well loved dolls that she drags around with her. It's a good sized image. This card is an A6 as opposed the usual A2 size cards that I make.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Westrim, Jupiter Mica-California Paper Company; Neenah); Stamp (Charlotte-Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps); Color (Copic Markers); Ribbon (Bazzill); Flower (Prima); Brad (Basic Grey)

Gorjuss in Blue

It's been a while since I have featured a Gorjuss Girl card so today's card is a beautiful Gorjuss Girl from artist Suzanne Woolcott. I love her innocent face and long hair.

The outfit was colored with "Iron Blue" around the edges only and smeared with a blending pen to make the outfit go from dark to light on the inside. I like the effect it gives the outfit. This stamp makes me think she is floating (and dreaming).

Project Materials: Card (Mica cardstock in Sapphire-California Paper Goods); Stamp (Gorjuss Girl-Sugar Nellie Rubber Stamps); Ink (Memento); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic Markers); Flowers (Petaloo); Brads (Making Memories, Basic Grey); Epoxy Buttons (Making Memories); Sheer Ribbon (Fire Mountain Gems); Magic Mesh

Hunny Bunny

Here's a cute bunny from Whipper Snapper. I didn't have a saying to go with it so I printed one up on my computer. I guess real bunnies aren't pink, but I think this one looks adorable in pink.I can't believe we had so many people vote in last week's card of the week. The Witchy Emma card won, but just barely. CC Designs Bear

Happy Friday everyone! I hope this week is coming to a nice end for you. It has cooled off a lot here, probably a good 20 degrees down from yesterday. The DH is off today, so we actually got to have lunch together and enjoy a movie.

This cute bear is from CC Designs. It's one of the first cases where I am really pleased with the blending I got from the copic markers. I used E33, E35 and E37. I can see the colors blend from light to dark without seeing the marker "lines".

If you haven't signed up for the drawing, scroll down to monday's blog entry! I will draw the name tomorrow, so there is still time to sign up for the free Stamping Bella stamp.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Stampin' Up, Bazzill); Stamps (Bear, Saying-CC Designs, Paw-Stampin' Up); Sewn background (Linda Weber); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Color (Copic Markers)

Hello Sunshine!

I guess we are not going to get a lot of Sunshine this weekend, but the rain is refreshing and the cold front that comes with it is a nice break from a very hot summer. It may bring us down to the 70s. I have never been a huge fan of winter time, but I am looking forward to a cold spell that lets me curl up under a big blanket.This stamp is one of the new additions to the Gumdrop Gang from Sweet Pea stamps. They are having a sale this week, you can access their website by clicking on the Pink banner in the right hand column. The cardstock here is a beautiful mica that's shimmery with a matte finish.

Happy Life

"Very little is needed to make a happy life." How true is that? I often find myself amused and thanking God for the smallest of things. Getting on the bus just before the big rain, the cloud that moves over to block the hot sun, the beautiful flock of parrots that run wild here in Austin.

This cute little girl comes from Hanglar&Stanglar. She's so adorable. I love that flower and her cute hat. I hope you are having a happy life. Can you think of five things that made you happy today?

Project Materials: Printed Paper (DCWV); Stamp (Hanglar & Stanglar Rubber Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Color( Derwent Inktense); Brads; Vellum Quote; Butterfly accent (unknown);

Stop and Smell the Roses

Here's Tilda with some roses for you! Shouldn't we all stop and smell the roses sometimes?

Today I saw many people from our neighborhood come together in friendship to eat and talk with one another. After that I went to my first session of the handbell choir. We all began learning how to play. It was a real joy as there were 4 children there too! They were all very musical and knowledgable of sheet music. Two of them were outstanding piano players as well! So stop and smell the roses all around you. Even when you think you are surrounded by thorns, there may be a sweet smelling rose nearby.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill, Bazzill Bling); Printed red paper (DCWV); Stamp (Magnolia); Ink (Memento); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic Marker); Saying (Vellum Sticker -Colorbok); Butterfly (Doodlebug); Skittles;

Pumpkin Emma

Good Morning everyone! I figured I would continue along the fall theme with this cute card of Emma dressed up as a pumpkin from CC Designs. TOO cute. I think this design would work for Halloween or Thanksgiving.

I'm off to prepare for National Neighborhood Night out. The church will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs out on the lawn and I have volunteered to make a dessert. Haven't decided what I am going to make yet, so I better get with it! I wanted to do something pumpkin-y as I just LOVE pumpkin but I also need to make something that's easily handled and works for a picnic style meal.

Whiff of Joy

Happy World Cardmaking day!! Today is offically a celebration for all the cardmakers out there. Here's my first card using a stamp from Whiff of Joy. She's so sweet. I love her cute pants.
Another thing I did for this card was layering on the ribbons. I started with a light colored orange and then layered a thinner stitched ribbon on top. Looking forward to making more cards today, it is world cardmaking day!

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzil, Bazzil Bling); Stamp (Whiff of Joy); Ink (Memento); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic Markers); Brads (Queen & Co.); 2 ribbons (unknown);

Witchy Emma

Happy Friday all! I am glad to see another week has passed and another weekend is approaching. I just got this adorable stamp from CC Designs with Emma in a little witch outfit. Too sweet.

I am still working on my copic marker coloring. This image uses 2 shades of skin tone, 3 shades of brown and 2 shades of violet. Can you tell that? I guess you don't want to really see all the different colors so much as see the dimensionality of the shading. Well, I will keep practicing.

Project Materials: Cardstock (card-California Paper Goods; Printed-SEI); Stamp (Witch Emma-CC Designs); Ink (Memento); Color (Copic Markers); Ribbon (Fire Mountain Gems);

Boo to you!

I can't believe we are already in October! I have started making many Halloween cards to send out to friends and family. This one uses a Ghost that I stamped on printed vellum paper.

I was able to ahere the ghosts down using a glue pen and carefully placing the glue in areas that were masked by the ink from the stamp. I used a new border punch from Fiskars to give the card three layers and then used a vertical stamp from Sweet Pea on the edge.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamps (Sweet Pea Stamps); Border Punch (Fiskars); Glue Pen (Zig Squeeze and Roll); Ribbon (Fire Mountain Gems); Vellum (unknown); Ink (Memento);

Tending the Garden

This cute little girl is going out to the garden in her overalls pulling a cute wagon with her. The stamp comes from Hanglar&Stangler.

Hope you are having a Happy Thursday. It's getting cooler here in TX I think you could start up a garden again, esp with the wonderful rain we have been having. This is more work with Copic Markers.
