Samantha

Here's one of the most delightful fairy stamps that was designed by well known artist Valerie Wade. This fairy is named Samantha (Plate #118). I love that name as it's my neice's name so I colored up this fairy with Samantha (or Sammie as we call her) in mind.Samantha loves purple so I used a lot of that while coloring and added my favorite color which is orange. Once I colored the image, I used that color palette to select my card and embellishments. I had a wonderful sheet of orange with a sparkly background. I added lots of purple embellishments and die cut the saying out using nestabilities. I added some sparkle to the image's wings using Stickles.

Have a fairy happy day!

Stamper's Challenge--Easter Candy trash?

So, I was presented with a challenge recently, how about you use some wrappers from your Easter candy in a project? This challenge came straight from Lynette, owner of Sweet Pea stamps and got me thinking....why don't I....of course, I had to run out and get some easter candy right away!! So, here's a little project where I used some Bazzill paisley chipboard and wrapped it in foils from yummy chocolate/caramel eggs. Man, those eggs tasted good. I didn't get no cheap eggs, I went straight to Central Market to get the super nice premium stuff. I mean, when you need inspiration, why not get the best?

I used a wonderful image from artist Elaine Cox called Alice and the Piglet (plate #44) then added a wonderful Happy Easter saying to it from Plate #13. Hope this starts your juices flowing! There's contest on the Sweet Pea Blog, go over there and take the challenge....CLICK HERE!

Be sure to read the post below, new blog candy is coming!!

Project Materials: Cardstock(Bazzill, Neenah); Rubber Stamps (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento, Staz-On White); Chipboard (White); Foil Wrappers (choc easter candy); Die Cut (Spellbinders-Nestabilities); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers);

Here's my treat today, this stamp is designed by artist Joanne Schempp and is a beautiful Unicorn and Fairy. For this card I made a 6" square card with paper from Bazzill, Bazzill Swiss, and printed paper from Crafter's Companion. I used a wonderful punch from Martha Stewart. I colored the image with copic markers and highlighted with wings with some glittery icicles. I think the image was so beautiful that simple buttons were enough bling to finish this card.

Flutter by...Faerie

Here's a wonderful new design that recently came out from Sweet Pea stamps artist Karen Middleton called Flutter by. It is sold individually and on Plate #115. I chose beautiful bright colors for this card and used matching embellishments to highlight it.I had some adorable ladybug buttons that I removed the shanks on and added them as embellishments to the card. I took a great saying from the Verticals sheet that says "Follow Your Dream" as it goes so well with this image. I finished the card by dusting the edges with a colorbox chalk ink pad. Yum. Doesn't this make you wanna run after some butterflies?

Fairyopolis is coming!!

Happy Friday everyone! Here's another wonderful card style that you can make using The Ultimate Tool from Crafter's Companion. This card opens in the center. You may not be able to immediately tell that from this photo here, but see the photo below that shows the card open up. This shows how it will look when the recipient receives it. I used some wonderful clear stamps from the newest Fairyopolis clear stamp sets, as well as some beautiful paper from the 12x12 paper pad for Fairyopolis. I made this card in a 6" square size, which means I could cut my 12" sheets of paper in half to make 2 cards per sheet. I selected a beautiful pink butterfly sheet from the Fairyopolis pad. These items are about to be released from Crafter's Companion! Aren't they beautiful? (read about it HERE) I colored the Fairy using Copic Markers and trimmed her out using Spellbinders Nestabilities in Scalloped Oval shapes. I stamped a wonderful saying on the front of the card "Do you Believe in fairies?" as well as adding additional butterfly images stamped onto the printed paper in two different pink shades of Colorbox Chalk ink. Stamps I used: Fairyopolis Spring Collection-Primrose Fairy, butterfly; Fairyopolis Fall Collection - Saying "Do you Believe in Fairies?", "Have a wonderful day", butterfly; On the edges of the card, I added ribbon in pink and brown to highlight the seams of the card. I also used the same ribbon inside the card to add a matching touch with the saying, "Have a wonderful day." Here's the final card image that shows how the card will open up and appear to the recipient when they get it. Fairyopolis is a wonderful collection and all the pieces go well together. There's also a great card making kit that comes with a wonderful selection of cards, die cuts, vellum, flowers, and everything you can imagine, including a booklet full of ideas! I can't wait to make you something with those goodies....until next time!

There's some wonderful blog candy available from my blog that was a gift from Crafter's Companion. Be sure to go sign up. In the USA (CLICK HERE); Outside the USA (CLICK HERE). Have a fairy nice day!

Fly me to the moon

Here's a stunning maiden from artist ching chou kuik of Sweet Pea Stamps from Plate #101. This gorgeous stamp is filled with love and come with several wonderful sayings. For this card though, I imagine her sitting on the moon and looking out across the world for her lost love. I added a wonderful but very simple sentiment "MISS YOU" from Plate #98.I wanted to do the coloring in monotone theme within the same red color family of copic markers so I chose R32, 34,37 and 39 for the outfit, the hair, the mermaid's scales, the tiny butterflies, and the hearts. I used an assortment of the red tones on each segment so that each would match and blend in with the adjacent parts. I added a simple sentiment "Miss You" to the card and lots of bling in assorted sizes to add a little pop. Hope this card inspires you to want this set. One other thing that I love on this plate (#101) is that it comes with wonderful sentiments "I love you. Not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you." "I am life a falling star who has finally found her her place next to another in a lovely constellation, where we will sparkle in the heavens forever-Amy Tan" and "Happy Valentines Day" Have a loving day Holley

SWALK- Friends Like You

Welcome! Today is my first official day as a Crafter's Companion Design Team stamper. Here's a wonderful card that I made for today using the Ultimate Tool, some beautiful pearlescent paper in purple (bright) and a wonderful set of SWALK stamps called "Friends Like You".

This card is called a three fold gateway card. The Ultimate tool has a great video, all the accessories you need and a handy little booklet to help you make a ton of different types of cards, envelopes and boxes. The card I made opens out into three pages.

The front page uses the adorable girl from SWALK feeding the bunny and the birds. I colored her in Copic Markers and mounted her on a diecut embossed frame.

The center fold in the card uses the first saying included in the set, "Friends like you" and the single bunny rabbit stamp.

For the final panel in the card, I used the remaining saying in the stamp set "are far too few" with two adorable little birds.

Here's another main photo of the card that shows all three panels.

USA crafters, please goto the other blog posting today (up one posting!). I have two beautiful stamp sets from Crafter's Companion. One is a great stamp set from SWALK, my favorite as I used it to make a card today (you will be getting the exact same set, a brand new one of course!), it's SWALK's "Friends Like You" The other gift is a stamp set from another wonderful line of stamps called Flower Fairies, the set is called "Rosebay Willowherb" and is a beautiful elegant set Both of these stamp sets will be mailed to one lucky winner who will be selected on the same day as the other prize winners, May 5th. To sign up, please check out the wonderful Crafter's Companion Website (Click HERE) and become a Blog follower. Be sure to leave a comment here so I will know you have done so and pass the word to all your friends so they will see this wonderful contest.

Hugs all over the world!!

Cheers, Holley
