I will give you my heart

Here's a beautiful card using a set of image from Unity stamps with some gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress.  I love how she's sharing her little heart right in her hand.  How sweet is that?  I added some large heart shaped brads from Bazzill.  So cute.
All the papers on this card come from Paper Temptress.  The beautiful background is a gorgeous shimmery paper from Hambly Studios.   The paper is called a Screen Print in Retro Rectangles.  It shimmers and is totally sleek.  If you typically make cards, Paper Temptress sells wonderful packs of 6x6" assorted Hambly Screenprints, so you can get a little bit of each paper.  The base of the card started with Neenah Solar White cardstock.  I stamped my image and my saying on the Neenah cardstock as well as creating the card base out of Neenah.  The saying's background is dark blue cardstock.

Project materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress); Images (Unity Stamps); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities, Nellie Snellen);  Brads (Bazzill);  Punch (Martha Stewart); Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All);

Squigglefly Challenge

Hello everyone and Happy Monday!  You know what that means....yep, it's time for the Squigglefly Challenge.  This week's challenge is to create a paper piercing OR a paper piecing.  As you can see on my card here, I have done a paper piercing, by punching small holes around the image as well around both the sentiments from a brand new image from artist Fawn Palmer called Beautiful Mermaid.  She is also sold with the funny sayings shown!

I hope you will come up with a fun creation this week and join in on the fun at the Squigglefly Challenge. If you do, you could win a free stamp from Squigglefly.  Check out what the other Holley Hobbyists created and give it try.

Project materials:  Cardstock (American Traditionals, Hobby Lobby, Neenah); Image (Squigglefly); Die Cut (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Flower (Prima); Brad (Imaginations); Buttons (JoAnns); Twine(Doodlebug);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue dots); Color (Copic markers);

Elinora

Here's a card from Sweet Pea stamps artist Elaine Cox.  This image just came out and she is called Elinora.  There's just something about this image that really caught my eye.  I knew I had to have her when I saw the stamp.  Something, maybe different or quirky that just made me like her a lot.  I also like the background that the artist added to the image.

Here's a close up of the stamp so you can see her beautiful detailing, I love the design added in the background.  You can also see how I colored in her eyes to match her tail and her little red pearls.  Doesn't she look like she's ready for some "Great Adventures?"
Just wonderful.  There's several new mermaid images out from Elaine Cox right now.  You can get them both in rubber stamp format as well as digital format.

Have a great weekend everyone.  Happy card making.

Cheers, Holley

Snow White

Here's a great image from artist Sherri Baldy from the Wonderland Besties stamps.  Isn't she cute?  She so makes me think of snow white, so I colored her up in blue and white and gave her black hair.  I added some shimmery blue and gold cardstock behind her with lace and blue ric rac.

Sherri has a bunch of wonderful Besties at the SSS Store as well as weekly contests going on at the Bestie Blog and the SSS Challenge blog, where the prize is a $30 gift card!  Definitely worth playing every week for your chance to win.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah, Mica); Image (Addicted to Stamps--Scrapbook Stamp Society);  Lace (Joanns); Die Cut (Nellie Snellen); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glueall, Glue dots, Ribbon GLue);  Color (Copic markers);

Angel

 Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea stamps artist Conie Fong called Angel of Christmas Stars, but as you can see, I have colored her up in a totally non-Christmas way.  This stamp can be used in many color combinations and is perfect for all sorts of beautiful cards year round.  Instead of coloring her flowers red like poinsettias, I simply made them pink to match the beautiful dress that I colored her in.  Isn't she perfect?

Here's a close up of this gorgeous image
Conie Fong's images are available in rubber stamps or as digital stamps at the Sweet Pea store.  Be sure to check out all of her amazing designs.  Hope this beautiful angel has inspired you today.

Project materials:  Cardstock:  (DCWV, Neenah, Bazzill);  Stamp (Sweet Pea Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Die Cut (Marianne Design; Spellbinders Nestabilities); Adhesives (Glue All, Glue Dots, Pop dots);  Bling (Glitter); Buttons (Imaginations);  Color (Copic markers);

Once Upon a Dreams....

Here's a stunning image from Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Shelia Wolk called Once Upon a Dreams Sleepy Slumber.  What a gorgeous stamp.  I colored it up with copic markers and then framed it using some amazing lace that I bought in Istanbul.  The theme of the week at the SSS Challenge this week is to use a butterfly on your project, so I added a lovely orange butterfly in the corner.

Love every inch....

Here's a sweet and simple card that I made for my hubby recently.  Unity stamps had a big sale a while back including a number of cute images for a couple dollars or less.  I had to pick up this one.  Too fun.  You'll see several funny images that I picked up in that order.

At more than half way through the summer now, I hope everyone is having a great time and staying cool. If it is as hot where you are as it is in South Texas, be safe outside, stay hydrated, keep on that sun block!

Project Materials:  Cardstock (California Paper, DCWV, Neenah); Stamp(Unity Stamp); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Die Cut (Xcuts);  Ribbon (Michaels);  Buttons (American Traditionals); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue dots, Ribbon Glue, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers);

Here's a gorgeous image from artist Kim Gwin of Scrapbook Stamp Society.  I did this cute card for their contest this week.  This image is called Cattails. The theme is to use ribbon and at least one button.  I am using some fun grosgrain ribbon with blue polka dots which matches the colors I used to color my image.
Drop by the SSS Challenge blog, now that you have seen my sample, I hope you will pull out any SSS image you own and make a fun card with some ribbon and buttons.  The prize is a huge $30 card that you can spend on all their digi-stamps!  Woo Hoo!!

Dare to Live Your Dream

Here's a gorgeous mermaid from Sweet Pea Stamps artist Joanne Schempp.  She's called Fluff Dry.  What a beautiful digital image.  I printed her up and cut her out using one of the newest Spellbinders that both embossed and cuts.    I chose rich red Copic Markers to color her up and used a great saying from Cosmo Crickett to go with her "Dare to Live Your Dream."  She looks like she is ready!
Those wonderful corners are from Marianne Designs.   Here's a closeup of this gorgeous stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps:

Be sure and check out all of Joanne Schempp's amazing images, she has a bunch of beautiful mermaid images as well as other amazing lady images, both in rubber stamp as well as digital stamp format.

Bundled Up

Here's a wonderful image from Queen Kat artist Kathy Cyr.  This cute image is called Bundled Up.  Queen Kat is having this Christmastime in Summer fun this month, showing many brand new Christmas theme stamps so that crafters who love to make their Christmas cards can get a jump on their holiday creations.  Isn't that clever?  This artist makes the most adorable images of this cute girl and her cat, called Francis Mary and Cornelius

Be sure and check out Kathy Cyr's other stamps in both rubber stamp and digi-stamp format at the Queen Kat store.  She has a bunch of adorable Francis Mary and Cornelius stamps that are too adorable, I own several of them, my fav is called "Hello" probably closely followed by the one where they are both dressed as Ballerinas!

Anatasia

Here's a lovely lady card using a digital stamp from Make It Crafty named Anatasia and stunning shimmery papers from Paper Temptress.  I chose to go with pink and oranges for summertime when I colored up this image using Copic Markers so I wanted to pick the most beautiful papers to go with her.

I chose the base of the card to be a heavy mica cardstock in pink that's called Azalea.  The colored border and diecut corners that I am using are also a wonderful shimmer paper that's printed in an orange and yellow pattern.  This paper is from Hambly Studio Screenprints.  It's called Retro Rectangles.  Though you can't really tell the design here, it gives a wonderful bright pop of orange and yellow color.  If you are like me and do a lot of cards, esp staying at the 6x6" size and smaller, a great set is the 6x6" precut pieces which give a bigger variety of the papers already cut down (click here).  The white cardstock here is Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.  I chose that for this image because I was running it through my printer for printing, the Neenah cardstock runs through the printer easily and colors with Copics great.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress);  Image (Make it Crafty); DieCuts (Spellbinders, Memory Box); Punch (Martha Stewart); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers); Ink Pad (Colorbox Chalk);

Gorgeous long hair!

Hi everyone!  Here's a gorgeous stamp from Sherri Baldy.  I just love this long hair! Isn't she stunning?  I don't think I have ever had hair that completely hit the floor like that, but I have had hair that would almost hit the floor when I sat down.  That was not so long ago, just prior to my brain surgery.  At any, I just LOVE this gorgeous stamp, she's one the Besties (click here).

Be sure and check out all the design teams images at the blog as well as check out this week's contest over on the SSS Challenge blog!  This card here is for the Besties Challenge, which is to use white, black and one other color, which for me is RED....

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah); Image (Scrapbook Stamp Society); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Ink (Copic Markers); Bling (Hobby Lobby); Die Cut (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Adhesives (Pop dots, glue dots, glue all);

Here's a wonderful Tiddly Inks image for the Tiddly Inks challenge.  They are looking for Fairies and Mermaids.  You know I got a few of those images.  This gorgeous little fairy sure is cute.  I colored her up in Copic markers and used some gorgeous lace that I got back during my visit to Istanbul.

Hope you liked this cute little fairy today.

Baby Girl

Here's my version of this beautiful stamp that we are using for this month's Sweet Pea variation week.  This stamp is Conie Fong's Mother and Baby Girl.  It is available in both rubber stamp and digi-stamp format.  I chose to use yellows and greens for this card.  I know lots of mom's get beautiful items in these colors, esp. when they don't know the sex of their baby before it is born. Often the baby showers are filled with more neutral colored gifts.  I think these colors would go well for either, but this cute image, you can so tell she's a sweet baby girl!
I used some gorgeous embossed paper from Heidi Grace with a  sweet "Look at you Grow" sentiment from Basic Grey.  I added a few random sentiments on the card that go perfectly with little children.
Be sure and check out all of Conie's  wonderful stamps at the Sweet Pea store.

Project Materials: Cardstock (Heidi Grace, DCWV Metallic, Neenah); Image (Sweet Pea Stamps); Flowers (Prima); Buttons (American Traditionals); Stickers (Basic Grey, JoAnns); DieCuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue Dots); Color (Copic Markers);

Shy Bear Blog Hop

Today the Squigglefly Design Team is having a blog hop using the wonderful Shy Bear stamp collection in honor of a recent passing of Melissa Chettle who died suddenly this June at the young age of 43.

My dear friend Charlene tells me that she was a wonderful woman who made afghans and donated them for so many people.  This image made me think of her, and all the people who must snuggle up and night and hold a blanket close to them feeling warm and comforted in the handmade love that she created.  I hope her friends and family know that she reached out and touched a lot of people that way.

I hope you will continue along the Shy Bear Blog hop to see the other beautiful cards.  Squigglefly, whose artist Lynne Stansberry created the Shy Bear including the one shown on my card today, Sleepy Time Bear.

It's Christmas time in summer!

Well, perhaps we are not really having any Christmas time weather here in summer, but we can be making our Christmas theme cards now.  Queen Kat is releasing a bunch of new Christmas theme stamps this month including this adorable image from artist Kathy Cyr.  It's part of the Francis Mary & Cornelius collection and is called Bundled up.  It will be released in early July.

I know lots of stampers who make it their goal to create a handful of Christmas cards every month so that when the holidays get here and they are so busy, they already have a wonderful selection of cards to give out.  What a nice idea.  Drop by the Queen Kat store and check out this month's release of brand new Christmas theme stamps.  I have a bunch of new cards to share too.

Cowgirl (Blog candy coming!!)

Here's a super hot stamp from Unity Stamp company.  I figured she would be great for the upcoming 4th of July.  I suppose this card doesn't have a sentiment for that, but it is done in red, white, and blue.  If only I could end up as tall as this girl looks like she is!  I added that sentiment for the hubby, I love you so.

I know many people will be off the rest of the week starting tomorrow.  Have a great holiday time.  And I will say, that yes, I live in Texas and NO, I don't own a single pair of boots or a buckle or a cowgirl hat.  I don't have a horse, I live in a major metropolitan area.  I know that when people find out I am from TX, they definitely have an idea of TX life.  We have four of the largest cities in the USA, so most of TX people live in big cities, myself included.

OK....on to the blog candy....I am approaching 200,000 visitors! Sounds like an occasion to celebrate!  Right now I am hitting 199,000 so just 1000 hits left.....Starting today will be keeping track of commenters through and until I hit the 200,000 mark and winners will get picked from that group!  I have lots of great stamps goodies to share.  Hopefully I can get a photo up.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Paper Co, Neenah);  Image (Unity Stamp Co); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Punch (Martha Stewart); Die Cut (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Saying (Cosmo Crickett); Bling (Studio G); Adhesives (Pop dot, Glue all, Glue dots);  Color (Copic Markers);

I am showing this card for this week's Challenge at the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge.  The contest is open this week, so Anything Goes.  Drop by the challenge blog and share your work with them!  Best of luck as they give away a wonderful prize of digi-stamps from their store!
