Teddy Bear cupid

Wow can you believe we are at the end of August?  I know I can't!  All the kids have already started back to school and the older kids are back in college. What a quick summer.  This week starts an Anything Goes challenge over at Outlawz Monday Greetings.  I am using this adorable teddy from DeeDee's Digis.  It comes with the adorable sentiment shown, plus several additional sentiments. It also has a precolored image.

I had to add these cute arrows on my card because they go with the sentiment. The image set includes the colored, line image, set of sentiments and is only $2!!  It's called Love you Beary Much. Drop by and check out the other Outlawz cards this week and the theme is Anything Goes, the only requirement on the Monday contests is that your card have a sentiment on them.  Join in the fun!

Follow Your Dreams

Here's a brand new artist that I ran across recently, her name is Julia Spiri.  I just LOVE her cute little stamps this one is little fairy.  She sells digis at an etsy store Stamps by Julia Spiri.  Too cute, my newest favorite is one called Gothic Witch...you know that one will be next image I get from this artist.

I colored up her hair in orange and her dress in blue...oh, don't you love her cute little socks.  I would totally wear mis-matched socks around.  So sweet.

Have a blessed sunday everyone

Care for a spot of tea?

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea Artist TheEastWind.  She has a wonderful stamp line using a character called Lucy Loo. Totally one of my favorites. This image is called Lucy Loo Mad Hatter.  It's currently available in both Rubber and Digi format.  Be sure to check out the links to the store as you will see how totally different the artist's original coloring on this image looks compared to my own.  How cool is it to see two totally different looks ont he same stamp.

I used die cuts from CC Designs and a tea cup from Doodle bug designs to go with some MAMBI paper for this card.  Don't you just love Alice in Wonderland theme?  I had to share this card the day after sharing my Mad Hatter yesterday.

What's the hatter with you?

Here's a card using a fun image from SLS Lines with a great paper combination from Paper Temptress.  I love being able to use bold and bright, even neon colors to really POP sometimes. I think this image really goes with this beautiful paper combo.  The image is Mad Hatter.  I added a fun sentiment from Kraftin Kimmie rubber stamps.

The awesome specialty papers on this projects are all from Paper Temptress.  The base of the card is a beautiful Mica/Metallic called Fairway.  I embossed it with a Darice embossing folder.  I then added a pink/brown Hambly Studio Screenprint called Mod Circles.  It is a small portion of the sheet I linked to.  Over the Screen Print I added a Hambly Studio Overlay called Lime Mini Graph.  I printed out my image on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest and colored it with copic markers to complete the card.

So, What's the hatter with you?

Love me

Here's a darling image from artist Sherri Baldy.  She's just got the cutest striped hose with pigtails in her hair and beautiful flowers.  I added some lovely birds and floral décor as well.  A sweet and simple card to share this sweet image.

Hope your week is going well. Most of the college kids I know are getting started this week and even some of the regular schools are starting up here in TX.  It makes the morning traffic a lot worse for the hubby but it also makes just about everywhere I go during the daytime really quiet.

There's a wonderful contest over on Your Scrapbook Place Challenge Blog, it's Anything Goes and you get an extra entry for using a Sherri Baldy stamp, so please share with us!  There's also an Anything Goes + Frames theme contest going on over on the SSS Challenge blog, so you can enter multiple contests with one creation!  Woo hoo!

Scuba Owl

This is the most adorable owl ever!!  I had to laugh when I saw him all dressed up in a scuba outfit. How darling is that?  This image is from 2 Cute Ink!  This store has the cutest little animal images every.  I added a sweet sentiment, "Owl Always be with you." and then did some burnishing by using an embossing folder that is 6x6" on the paper that is waves and added on a little bit of sanding and some chalk.

Inside by Shaker box I added some clear and blue glitter, little tiny buttons of shells, star fish and sand dollars, some adorable glitter that sparkles.  Here's a close up of the image so you can see it clearer.

Hope you will drop by the Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge, this week the challenge is Burnishing and you only need to have burnishing somewhere on your card and a sentiment.  An image is great, but not required.  We can't wait to see what you make!

Happy Birthday Sis!

Just wishing my sister a Happy Birthday today! Here's a delightful Magnolia stamp with the cutest Tilda on there, she has cute curls, which I always remember my sister having curly hair when we were younger.  Somehow I never knew mine was too until I was an adult and a hairdresser told me that my hair was also curly!  I used to curl my hair all the time when I was younger

Hope you have a wonderful birthday Sister.

Cheers, Holley

Also wonderful news that my brother and his wife have welcomed their first child!  Hugs and prayers to them and their new family.

Courting Man

Happy Thursday everyone!  There's a new release of images over at SLS Lines today.  Here's the fun image I chose, he's called Courting Man.  I colored him up in a purple and green combination and then did my card in matching colors includeing the sentiment.  The sentiment to me is just hilarious, but also so very true, "Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but religiously follows the new."  HA!

I guess by my age, I have also seen many a trend recycle...bell bottom pants, crop tops, sometimes I swear that was a person stuck with a whole ware house of material from the 60s who's now laughing all the way to the bank.

So many fun things you can do with this man, think of all the sentiments you could put with him!

Hope this card gave you a smile today.

Frame it!

Happy Monday everyone!  Here's a fun card that I made for the new contest starting at the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge blog.  The challenge this week is anything goes + Frame it.  As you can see, I added a frame and then included a fun sentiment inside.  Isn't this sentiment just perfect for Sherri Baldy's images?  You would think this sentiment came from her, but it is actually a rubber stamp made by Unity Stamps, it just goes perfectly with all Sherri's bestie images though, I had to use it.

I am also using a huge Marianne die cut frame in the background behind my image.  This fun image is IMG614.  Drop by the SSS Challenge blog and join in this week's challenge for a chance to win some awesome images from Sherri Baldy.  ALSO, there's another fun Anything Goes contest over at Your Scrapbook Place Challenge blog with Sherri Baldy as the sponsor, so quick go make a card with one of her images and you can join TWO fun challenges.

Cooking Chicken

Here's a Sweet Pea stamps image from artist Sandra Caldwell.   It is called Cooking Chicken.  This funny image made me laugh out loud the first time I saw it.  HA HA!  Can you really imagine a cooking chicken frying up chicken?  I added a Big Grins sentiment cardstock sticker to the card front as I don't know how this card couldn't just give you a giggle.

Here's a close up of this adorable stamp.  Be sure and check out all of Sandra Caldwell's funny and sweet images at the Sweet Pea Stamps store.  She makes the cutest digi stamps.

Friends Forever

Here's the cutest Sherri Baldy image today.  She's sitting on a big heart that I colored purple and blowing out kisses.  I added a metal sentiment of Friends Forever with an additional I love you.  I don't know if you can see it, but the purple paper is Bazzill Swiss which also has subtle polka dots, I thought that would go well with the pink polka dot background paper.

Drop by and join in the SSS Challenge blog this week, the challenge is Anything Goes with an added twist of white plus one color if you want to play along.  There's also an awesome Anything Goes contest using Sherri Baldy digis over on the Your Scrapbook Place Challenge blog, so share your cards there as well.

A great combination, Paper Temptress and Lizzy Love

Here's a gorgeous card using stunning and bright papers from Paper Temptress and a beautiful image from Oddball Arts stamp artist Lizzy Love.  I just adore her stunning images.  I put together this card using a combination of specialty papers and wonderful Hambly Studios screenprints.  The cute sentiment is from Cosmo Crickett.

The base of the card is a thick Mica/Metallic called Fairway green.  The next layer is a wonderful screenprint called Hambly Studios Screenprint 3/4 Graph.  The beautiful heart die cut from Memory Box is one that I am acutally using the BACK side of the printed screen print.  Obviously it would be better to use the printed side on most occasions, but in this case I wanted to show just the blue that would perfectly match the 3/4 Graph paper.  This is why I always save those small remnants of the papers when I cut them down.  The paper I am using is Hamply Studio Screenprint Mini Bicycles.  The image was printed out on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.

Will be sharing this card on my blog, the Paper Temptress Blog and the Lizzy Love contest over on their Oddball Art Stamp Co challenge blog.

Cheers everyone!

Hi everyone!  It's time for the new SLS Lines challenge to get started this month. The theme is beach/water.  I am using this funny guy called Little Man.  He's totally hilarious and you know he's totally that creepy guy out on the beach.  BUT, I totally have to ask you guys, have you heard of Dad Bod?  this is a real thing
As the article says, and I quote "Beer bellies are in, biceps are out, introducing the 'Dad Bod.'" (click here, but I am serious, you can't unsee or unlearn about this!).  All I can say is, this acceptance isn't going to happen for ladies.

Join in the fun SLS Lines Challenge this month and share your creations with us.

Never be afraid!

Here's an awesome image from Ike's Art.  Their blog is having a wonderful contest called All About the Night.  I thought this great image was just perfect.  I added some great paper that was covered in bats.  As you may know (or have heard me mention), Austin is home to one of the largest bat colonies that live in the city, about 1.5 MILLION bats fly out in a huge mass every night from the congress street bridge.  It's an amazing site.  When I had family her a couple weeks ago, we went there, but it did get very dark before the bats were emerging so I am afraid the kids were not as impressed as they might have been in August.
Drop by the Ike's Art Challenge blog and join in the fun!   This great stamp is called Franknella.  She was offered as a freebie on the challenge blog, so if you don't follow over there you should.  They regularly give away awesome images that you can make fun cards like this with.

You bring me so much Joy

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist The East Wind.  This image comes from the artists Aurora line and she's called Fuschia.  I adore this artist's stunning stamps.  This one is no exception.  I wanted to create a monotone theme card using all oranges for summertime, but be sure to checkout the artist's original coloring so you can see how very different the stamp can look when colored in a different color

I am using a love tag from MME and some daisy die cuts from Die Versions, as well as some netting and some different forms of bling.  Here's a close up of the stamp herself:

Check out all of the other East Wind images at the Sweet Pea stamps store and then join in with us over on our Facebook Page, Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fans where we have regular contests with prizes, card sharing, chatting and fun!

This card won---

There's also a wonderful place to share your East Wind creations, her Challenge blog, her current challenge is Summer Lovin' which is why I did this card in mostly oranges with such summer love sentiments! (click here).

Sharing this adorable image today from Deedee's digi stamps. I made this card for a very dear friend who was in the hospital recently after a fall.  She spent a week in the hospital and two weeks in rehab. I am very thankful that she is now with family for a while and I hope that she will get to return home soon.  I took her this card right before she left the hospital. This fun image comes with a cute set and includes several other images, both black and white and colored plus a bunch of other sayings for only $2.25! It's called Chicken Soup Wishes.

2 Skeletons Talking

Here's a hilarious image from Ike's art. You know I totally love her images.  This one is two skeletons having a conversations. I just had to add a humorous statement as to what they would be chatting about.  "So, we're at the bar and she says, You REALLY can't hold your liquor can you?"  HA!  too much.  Makes me think of a skeleton drinking a beer and trying to pick up a lady.

This fun image is called Skellie Gossip over at the Ikesart Digistamp site.  Check out the stamps and then join in their contest this week on their challenge blog

Have a great week everyone!

Time for a new challenge at YSBP

Happy August everyone!  Can you believe we are already at the last month of summer?  I know I can't! What I really can't believe is that here in Austin, we haven't had any 100 degree temperature days yet.  It's been unusually mild as far as summer is concerned (but yes, still unbearable, lol!).

We are starting up a brand new contest over at the Your Scrapbook Place Challenge blog.  Our Challenge is ANYTHING GOES, you are welcome to share your cards, journals, crafty handmade projects, scrapbook pages and other fun goodies with us.  The sponsor this month is artist Sherri Baldy and her wonderful Bestie Stamps.  This pretty image is IMG976.

Drop on over there and see what the other designers did with her fun images and then share your creations with us.  If you don't have a blog, feel free to email or Facebook me to get your creation entered. You will get an extra entry if you use a Sherri Baldy image on your project.

Cheers, Holley
